Trial version of WebHMI is available as VirtualBox image

04 Jan Trial version of WebHMI is available as VirtualBox image

Today we have something special for you. We are excited to introduce a demo version of WebHMI which you can run on your computer as virtual machine. This machine image brings the same advanced SCADA technology combined with easy-to-use built-in IDE as WebHMI does.

This image contains all the same software and possibilities as original WebHMI. You will even have Luci to manage network settings. This machine could be connected to Level2 as regular WebHMI. We preserved maximum features and even introduced some new features special for this virtual machine:

  • Add internal registers “D” (D1, D2, etc.) are now persistent. They will remain in non-volatile memory and will keep their values between reboots, daemon restarts, etc.
  • We added internal key-value storage. You can save any value from Lua script into this storage and reuse it later. All this w/o need to create internal registers for these pieces of data.
  • Lua JSON library was added. So you can store event complex structures (tables) in key-value storage. Also you can get even more possibilities with interacting with 3rd party services via Lua CURL library.

Demo version is intended to help a wide range of potential customers try WebHMI’s features before purchase. You can download it for free from our Level2 system. You will find installation instructions in our documentation.

There are some minor limitations in this version:

  • Only 10 external registers can be read
  • Archive is limited to 2 days
  • Only 5 dashboards can be viewed

This version works with Ethernet-based protocols natively via virtual machine’s Ethernet interfaces. Also you can attach RS-485 adapters to virtual machine and connect WebHMI to your devices over Modbus RTU and many other supported serial protocols.

Minimal system requirements:

  • VirtualBox + Extensions Pack
  • x86_64 architecture
  • 128MB of RAM (for VM)
  • 512MB of disk storage
